Biography
Dimitry Zatsarny was born in St.
Petersburg in 1969. He has studied in St. Petersburg and Armenia.
Before developing an interest in art Zatsarny had worked as a bookseller,
a stoker, a builder, a house painter and a joiner. It wasn’t
until 1989 that he began painting and drawing. During the following
year, Zatsarny joined the St Petersburg group of artists, “Rodniye”,
with whom he exhibited his work. In 1992, Zatsarny started exploring
traditional engraving techniques within his art practice. Since
then, Zatsrany has been using mediums such as etching, drypoints,
woodcuts and linocuts. In 1994, Zatsarny’s work was exhibited
at the Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Verona.
Zatsarny currently lives in St Petersburg and continues to work
as a professional artist.
